Journal:  In Act III, Hamlet tells Claudius about the play the actors will peform:

The Mouse-trap. Marry, how? Tropically. This play
is the image of a murder done in Vienna: Gonzago is
the duke's name; his wife, Baptista: you shall see
anon; 'tis a knavish piece of work: but what o'
that? your majesty and we that have free souls, it
touches us not: let the galled jade wince, our
withers are unwrung.

** Analyze the significance of Hamlet's response.

1.  Review Hamlet's violent scene with Opehlia in Act 3
(Get Thee to a Nunnery)

2.  Explore theme of misogyny.

3.  Discuss journal.

Has Hamlet already made up his mind?
What might Claudius suspect about Hamlet's irrationality?

4.  Quiz:  Act II
